How do i make my hair silky?!?

Well, my hair frizzes ALOT. I have a straightner (CHI) and i also have natural curly hair. And on rainy, humid or hot days, my hair tends to frizz and curl. But when ever i go to get my hair cut at the salon, my hair stylist always makes it silky somehow. Ive tried different types of oil on my hair recomended by Sally Beauty Supplies Workers. For example, ive tried the CHI silk infusion...it helps alittle but still isnt very silky. As for conditioners and shampoo...i use whatever my mom buys. Like Herbal Essense and Suave. So...someone please help!
