Why do people say that free speech is not allowed in the UK just because Michel Savages show was banned.?

The United Kingdom is indeed a very free country to a Digree and it pisses me off when ignorant people say that it's not!!!! The British people have a right to vote, protest,equal race rights and much more so why?!!!
